You Have Three Options For Your Communications System’s Growth.

Expand Your Current Limited Phone System

If it is not at capacity, you could add to it to expand it.  Circuit cards will usually add capacity for outside lines and internal stations.  Just buy your phones and have them installed and programmed.  If you have a Limited Phone System then you must move to one of the other options.

You are able to utilize a system that you already have and there won’t be any need for user training.  This is most likely the least expensive option.

The potential downside is you may be putting money into a system that has reached its end of life.  This means there is no support and failed components difficult to find that are reliable.

Purchase a New Premise System

A second option is you can update your premise system to a new one that can accommodate your projected growth.

You’ll have a new warrantied system that can accommodate your projected growth.

The downside for this is the expense for the system.  Leases help to spread the cost out.  Expect users to have a slight learning curve when updating to something new.

Subscribe To A Hosted Phone System Or Cloud PBX

The last option is a Cloud PBX or Hosted Phone System.  You can add stations as needed without regard to reaching any limit to a hard capacity.  Simply add stations as needed to the subscription.  You’ll want to make sure your network and internet connection are suitable for this option.  Any and every call will travel over your network and across the internet.

Hosted Phone Systems have built in business continuity should any unforeseen events occur.  During power interruptions or internet connectivity outages calls are automatically rerouted to predetermined destinations so you stay functional.

The downside is a monthly subscription for each station.  This subscription can be a tax deduction as an operating expense.  Check with your tax professional to confirm this for yourself.
